Julia Domna was one of the most influential women of the Severan dynasty. As the wife of Septimius Severus and mother of Caracalla, she played an active role in imperial politics and court life. Born in Syria, Julia Domna brought Eastern culture to Rome and became a powerful patron of philosophy, literature, and statecraft. Her coinage often features personifications such as Pietas, Fecunditas, and Vesta, underscoring her image as both a mother and a moral guide of the empire. She remains one of the most admired Roman empresses among historians and collectors.
